Iglar's first day

I had some problems, and actually gave myself some bad twitches trying to heal myself so hard on the first day. A kind empath gave me this 'famous' armband to use.

Visola offers you a cambrinth armband with silver filigree tracery and cabochon gemstone moons. Enter ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds.

Gretel says, "very expensive for newbies tho"

Visola says, "Cyanea gave it to me, my very first day as an empath"

Tilvus exclaims, "Why Iglar, that is a fabulous armband you have!"

Tilvus beams at you! What a warm feeling!
You say, "thank you milady."
Gretel whispers, "take good care of it.. that's worth a lot of plat"

Tilvus says, "You'll be the talk of the guild with that thing on ya arm."

Made some new friends, made some bard friends and barbarian friends in goblins.

A dark Creation

I've pretty much played Sircha out. I feel that I would like to try a taste at something darker. Roleplaying is in truth an artform, it takes time to develop a good character... not to say I'm dumping Sircha! Dear no! I'll always treasure my first bard. Forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and... ever!

What to do though... hmm. I was thinking of creating an empath. Not a slave mind you. But a truly roleplayed Empath, a human, with feelings, who will either 1) never meet Sircha, or 2) if she does meet Sircha be turned off to her because of a complete conflict in interests. Then I'm thinking of returning Sircha too, but only as a part-time bard to play with.

I recently started playing buffy the vampire slayer and Angel, and I think I would love to create a character that was dark and mysterious in an obvious way. (and that's always the hard part)

I can just feel my brain whirrr and click, click, click.

A dark empath, that would be something.
I'm thinking first off. Gotta get her the black leather dress from the Warmie Guild shop, the 20 plat one. Secondly, silver, lots of silver eyebrow, nose, lip rings. Black hair, black eyes, very white skin. Give her a very, very old leather sack that my bard has that'll hold everything she'll need. Also... I'm thinking a red silk scarf. silver scorpion talisman from Shard cleric's shop.

Armor: As black and as leather as I can get it. Studded leather armor actually will work like a charm.

Containers: charcoal black arm pouch from Therengaria.

Personality: Grim, cold, dark. very broody like the way I get when I'm a bad mood, but like this all the time. A touch sadistic.
Quotations: "Why should I bother healing you? You'll just get hurt and die again anyways. We'll all die so there's no point in helping you along." "The only reason I'm healing you is so I can feel your pain, because I want a connection to feel your pain and suffering." Do you like the way the scorpion of death stings with each touch? I find it quite arousing.

actions: Strolls in as if she owns the place and glancing into the reflection of a shield carefully applies a mixture of water and black charcoal dust under and over her eyes streaking it off to each side exotically.

Creation Systems Poll

today the Dragonrealms public polls ask:Creation Systems
When developing a "Creation System", how would you *MOST* prefer they be designed?
I have to say, down to the nitty gritty detail, and 'open ended' as I've heard some GM's describe their work as opposed to 'close-ended' because well... GM's will make good and cool thing. Then after the three cheers of wonderful and fantastic, especially if it's a system everyone can use, they'll usually get sent 1 million and 1 ways to improve it, that perhaps they just never could have thought of on their own, and if it's close-ended.... well... improvements can never be done, although they may be super-cool, friggin awesome ideas and suggestions... So that is my stance on things. Everything coded should be open-ended so that once it goes on preview the new system can undergo a 'renaissance' of ideas and imput from 1000+ customers.
Of course as always, I can never read the options in the poll because I'm a lurk, urk, urker!

Return of the Lurker

hmm.. interesting debate stirring up. Hey, I'm game!

Bardic Mojo, and Murder

The debate really isn't about why Bard's get it, the debate is more about why it seems bards are singularly penalized for it while every other guild gets off scott free, with the exception of paladins.

If a GM were to explain that every guild is penalized in a different way for C vs. C killing only that it's not widely known, then the complaining would doubtless stop. (But this is a wild card and speculation not known truth)

Bards arn't paladins, but they shouldn't be singled out to receive a special penalty that no other guild really gets for c vs. c killings.

This is the current logic and understanding of the guild, and they won't stop complaining until someone gives them a good, solid answer for it.

Despite the fact that bards are famous, and known for it, and if Bardic blue eyes kills Barbarian fire rage with they pyre, most of the known world will hear about it overnight.

I view it as... an attempt to make bard's better, but unless every single guild is also penalized similarily or if there are current plans in the works to penalize each guild for c vs. c slayings, then it's a handicap bards are going to complain (and continue to complain) and be unhappy about.

Because when you stand back, and look at it from the outside, it's completely unnecessary, for bards to get special penalties for killing others in self-defense or roleplaying a Swashbuckling Bard, and suffering grave penalties for RP.
